We use a pregnancy checker to see if the female pig, called a sow, is pregnant. There is a sensor on the end of the blue hand held device. We put some vegetable oil on the sensor and place the sensor up to her belly. The device makes a long solid beep if she is pregnant and many short beeps of she is not. A sow is pregnant for about 3 months, 3 weeks and 3 days. This sow is pregnant and I can’t wait to take care of her future piglets!
