2024 saw a lot of great releases from female country music artists. While it was hard to narrow down my favorites, I’ve picked 25 female artists I will continue to watch in 2025, plus their recent releases I love. Their music touches on female empowerment, heartbreak, remaining true to oneself, and embracing who they are meant to be. Here is part two with five talented women who have risen in 2024 and have a promising year ahead (If you missed part one, you can read it here.)
ASHLEY WALLS
Ashley Walls’ voice will truly put you at ease, her voice is so smooth and serene. I love the Western element to her songs that seem to build upon one another. Earlier this year, she released one of my favorites, “Cowboys” followed by “Wanted” and her recent hit duet with Struggle Jennings, “It’s On Me.” Ashley has been driving Uber and playing her music for passengers, posting videos of their surprised faces when she tells them it’s her singing the song. One day, she picked up Struggle and played her song “It’s On Me” for him, he loved it so much that he wanted to make it a duet. “This journey has been so special, and I truly feel God’s hand in every step… from the first time Struggle heard it in my car to the overwhelming love and support you all have shown. In just two weeks, IT’S ON ME has hit over 300k streams and landed on countless playlists. My heart is full, and I’m beyond grateful. There are too many people to thank, but to everyone who poured their time, talent, and passion into this song and video—thank you. This wouldn’t be possible without you,” said Ashley. With just one listen, you will hear how Ashley’s voice and style of country music sets her apart. I can’t wait to hear what she releases in the year ahead!
DEMPS
Katie Dempsey is quickly becoming my favorite girl to both listen and relate to through her music and videos. She is authentic and unapologetic as a single mother with the struggles of dating and sharing her life on the internet. Her music is so refreshing and she has released so many singles this year with my favorites being “If You Were A Country Girl” (the music video is awesome) and “Who’s Who.” I loved reading this article from People Magazine, about the story behind her music: Viral Sensation Demps Gets All Kinds of Rowdy in Music Video for ‘If You Were a Country Girl’: Watch (Exclusive). American Songwriter also talked with her about how “Who’s Who” has a special meaning in her life: Demps Talks “Who’s Who,” Earning Kelsea Ballerini’s Approval, and Having “Nothing To Lose.” The song is so relatable to someone who has been in multiple relationships. “This song is just more than a song, this song is being in a relationship trying to figure out if two are compatible. My experience being a single mother having the worst dating history and all you want is to try to find your perfect match. I hope so many can relate to this song as much as I did,” said Demps. I’m sure we can expect Demps to keep releasing music true to herself in 2025 and I can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve.
ALANA SPRINGSTEEN
Alana Springsteen’s album, Twenty Something, has been my go-to since it was released. Every song could be on repeat and I would never get mad about it. Her talent appears effortless, but she has been working hard at crafting her sound, and the intricate lyrics in her songs show the thought that goes into sharing her journey through her music. Her songs are fun, relatable, and roll off the tongue when you sing along. Some of my favorites off the album are her duet with Mitchell Tenpenny, “Goodbye Looks Good On You” (love this music video), “Ghost In My Guitar” featuring Chris Stapleton, and “Look I Like.” Her recent singles “Cowboy” and “Hold My Beer” are also super fun. Alana had a successful 2024 with “Goodbye Looks Good On You” receiving a Gold Record, playing the Ryman, and her single with Tiësto, “Hot Honey,” hit number one on dance radio. “My word for 2024 was brave, and it came up in my world in more ways than I can remember. There’s music coming in 2025 that makes me feel like it should honestly have been my word for next year. Thank you for sharing these moments with me… excited, scared, nervous to keep being brave with you. Happy New Year,” said Alana. Next summer, she will hit the road with Keith Urban on his HIGH AND ALIVE WORLD TOUR along with special guests @iamchasematthew and @karleyscottcollins (another one of my fav female artists). Alana gets me so pumped for what’s to come with her music.
ALEXANDRA KAY
Alexandra Kay has a voice close to heaven. It’s so light and delicate yet so impactful, hitting you right at the heartstrings. I first discovered her through her reels as she sang cover songs while making her iced coffee. Her voice reminds me of Alison Krauss, but she has a story to share all her own. Her album, All I’ve Ever Known, shares the heartache and challenges she endured in her divorce. Some of my favorites off the album are “Painted Him Perfect” and “Easy.” She shared details about her upbringing, start in music, and divorce on Bunny Xo’s Dumb Blonde podcast, Alexandra Kay: Never Look Back. Alexandra had a successful year touring with Jelly Roll and her duet with Logan Mize, “Grew Apart,” went Gold. One of my other favorite duets is with Alexandra and Julia Cole (see part one artists), “Best Worst Ex.” “2024… I will never forget you.. for you are the year I’ll forever look back on as the year I became who I’ve always wanted to be. I set out to make you my best year yet.. and I succeeded. I succeeded in being more resilient than ever when it came to music and business, I succeeded in strengthening and nurturing personal relationships. I succeeded in bettering my relationship with myself, forgiving myself for the wrongs I’ve done, and allowing my heart to love again. Great things happened this year, bad things happened this year.. and ya know what? I made it out loving myself more than I ever have. That matters more than any other milestone or accomplishment this year. AK FANS, y’all changed EVERYTHING for me this year. I will never be able to repay you or thank you enough.. but I’ll die trying. 2024, I LOVE YOU, but 2025, I am so ready!” said Alexandra.
BRITNEE KELLOGG
Britnee Kellogg is making music for women to feel empowered and uplifted. I loved talking with Britnee about her album, She’s Come A Long Way, released last summer (Read the article here). Her music is relatable and she shares about the challenges women face in their relationships and motherhood. The album also pays tribute to Johnny and June for inspiring her music career and showcases who she is. I love her 90’s country sound that takes me back to the music I heard from female country music artists growing up. Brittnee is so fun and uplifting on her social media, she isn’t afraid to be true to herself and own who she is as an artist and mom. I love the songs, “She’s Come A Long Way,” “Hell In A Handbag,” and “This Mess.” As a mom, Britnee feels like she is living “This Mess” daily. “I wanted to write a song about sharing life with someone in the midst of all the chaos and it’s so crazy when you have kids it can be like ships passing in the night. Raising kids, and being a mom and wife is literally a mess at times,” says Britnee, “I feel like I am living on 2% battery at any given moment, but I wouldn’t change it. I love being a mom and sharing it with someone; this song encapsulates anyone who has kids. It can be a mess, but it’s my mess and I love it,” said Britnee. I can’t wait to see what Britnee brings us in 2025, I’m sure her music will continue to be all the words women need to hear to feel their best and go after their dreams.
This was just a glimpse into all Ashley, Demps, Alana, Alexandra, and Britnee have done in 2024. I hope you enjoy their music as much as I do and stay tuned for part three of 25 Female Artists I’m Watching In 2025.
