This Baby Song Got Me – Cooper Alan’s Emotional “Starting To Show”

By Lauren Schwab Eyre

I spent most of 2025 expecting my first baby. I found out I was pregnant in March and we welcomed our baby boy, Dierks Adam Eyre, on November 5. He was born 3.5 weeks early but is growing and thriving thanks to Jesus. Music has a way of bringing comfort and excitement in life’s biggest moments. When I heard Cooper Alan’s song, “Starting To Show,” I thought this song couldn’t be more perfect for how I felt while pregnant. Cooper and his wife Hally welcomed their first baby, daughter Coley Frances Cooper, sharing the exciting news on Instagram on December 16.

When that test showed two lines
I was a happy mess, ’cause we’d been trying
But you’re never really ever quite ready
But we loved that baby girl already
Then we saw her moving ’round in that ultrasound
And a whole new part of my heart was found
Watching you both grow, never felt so proud
Until right now

You’re starting to show, I’m starting to dream
Yeah, we started at two, now we turned into three
And I’m kinda freaking out, I can’t wait to count ten little toes
Yeah, we started as kids, now we’re painting a room
Look at what God did and what He’s ’bout to do
I guess you never really know how big this love can grow
But it’s starting to show – Cooper Alan

Now, Dierks consumes me and I can’t wait to share country music with him someday. I chose his name after one of my favorite singers, Dierks Bentley. I hope he grows up to love the Lord, his family, the country, and finds comfort in country music like I do. Fingers crossed he will pick up a guitar one day, but I just hope he goes after his dreams as I will encourage him to do everyday.

This song is from Cooper’s new album release, Winston-Salem. The album has songs that touch the heart and raise your spirits up. From family time to fun bar times, Cooper has a wide range of songs on this album that I’ve been loving to listen to. As we head into 2026, I look forward to all the new music to come and will be sharing it with Dierks. Thanks for supporting this blog, be sure to subscribe to stay in the know of music I’m loving.
