I am honored to have been selected as a finalist for America’s Pig Farmer of the Year Award. The American public can go to www.americaspigfarmer.com to watch a video on each finalist and vote for their favorite once a day Sept. 1 – 10th. This award means a lot to me because I truly believe in my calling to be an advocate for agriculture and pig farming. This would give me the opportunity to fulfill my calling on a larger scale with opportunities to reach audiences I would not otherwise reach.
I don’t want to win for the title and recognition, I want to win because I truly care about my animals and our farmland. I want to create a relationship of understanding and trust with consumers so they can know the face of the farmers who raise their food and they can feel good about knowing how those animals were cared for in order to provide a safe, affordable nutritious protein source for those who choose to consume pork.
