Country Music duet, The Springs, is carving out a place of longevity in Music City. With tight harmonies, sure-footed songwriting direction, high energy shows, authenticity and undeniable chemistry – Stewart and Holly Halcomb are captivating hearts of country music fans. Featuring both male and female vocals, the driven pair come packed with a growing fan base.
The Alabama natives met at the world famous Bluebird Café shortly after they each moved to Nashville. They began co-writing and both approached their music with a “live life to the fullest” outlook. Sparks flew between the two and it became certain their chemistry onstage and offstage set them apart in a large pool of aspiring artists. They began working with Rick Barker, who managed Taylor Swift when she got her record deal. Barker witnessed their unwavering work ethic and their obvious connection. Subsequently he encouraged them to work as a team. From taking his advice and following his model, they continue to watch their careers flourish.
I talked with Stewart and Holly to learn more about their story and music that serves as an inspiration to others:

A. “Holly and I are both from Alabama. Crazy enough we met after we both moved here. We both always sang growing up in our home towns. Holly’s family always played music and she learned to love it through them. For me, my high school (Enterprise High School) was hit by a tornado in 2007 and I lost quite a few of my friends that day. I went home and wrote my first song about the tragic situation and from then on out, I knew music was what I wanted to do the rest of my life.

I realized how writing can not only help you cope with situations, but also other people. Holly and I were playing a round at the Bluebird Cafe here in Nashville, Tenn. when we met. We stayed in touch with each, wrote together and just became really good friends. About four months after talking, we realize we both love music and just had so much in common so we started officially ‘dating.’ haha.” said Stewart.

Q. What or who played an important role in developing your career goals and making the decision to take fate into your own hands to pursue a career in country music and make dreams into a reality?
A. “Quite a few people for the both of us I think. God first and foremost. Without him, we wouldn’t be here and have the blessing of being able to do this for a living with each other. Both of our parents have been EXTREMELY supportive. They always back us up in everything we do and we are super thankful for that. We’ve had so many people just encourage us and that in itself helped us to keep pushing forward and to never give up.”

A. “Never take NO for an answer. I am giving a speech to my alma mater graduating class this week and my whole meaning behind the speech is just because you fail does NOT mean your a failure. We all have dreams and goals. Some are harder to reach than others but it is possible if you don’t give up. Stewart and I’s favorite thing to tell people is, ‘It’s not how good you are at something, it’s how long your willing to stick at it.’ Abraham Lincoln failed over 16 times. He lost almost everything he ran for then he became the 16th president of the United States. That in itself is a HUGE accomplishment no matter how many times he failed before. So I would just say, do your best at what you do and don’t quit. Someone will EVENTUALLY notice you!” said Holly.

A. “YES, we are so excited about 2016! It’s already been a wonderful year! We got married in September of 2015, so 2016 has been a wonderful year of marriage for the both of us for sure! As far as music, we are releasing a brand new EP which is basically an album to most people but it only has 5 songs on it where most ALBUMS have 12 songs, some more some less. That will be released in June of this year.

We also have been named one of CMA’s Emerging Artist of 2016. That means we will have a booth inside of Fan Fair X at the Music City Center this year during CMA Fest. We are having our fan club party that week too at The Listening Room. It will on June 11 at 10 a.m. and tickets are $5. Everyone who attends will get a FREE limited edition gift from us. They will also be able to purchase our new album that day! Tickets are at this link if anyone is interested: http://goo.gl/HN4VhM

Their fans have taken on the name “Springsters” and have truly become more than just fans to The Springs. Stewart & Holly actually call their fans, “frans” (friends + fans = frans) because they truly feel a personal friendship between each fan. After each show they stay to make sure they sign autographs and take pictures with everyone that comes to let each “fran” know how much they mean to them. As their careers continue to rise, they remember where they came from. They’re just doing what they love and loving what they do and they’re inviting everyone along for the ride.
The Springs is partnering with you and PledgeMusic to share their “Dance With Me” EP with the world! Click here to pledge: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/thesprings
