Songs to Crank Up Around the Bonfire

By Lauren Schwab Eyre

It’s bonfire season, which means cranking up some jams with your friends around the fire. Here are three new country songs to play at your next bonfire that will have you wanting to keep it burning all night long.

“But A Beer Can” – Eric Burgett

“But A Beer Can” is the perfect song to start your bonfire party, straight away Eric sings of all the things you can’t do, but a beer can. You’ll quickly want to dance with a cold one in your hand and cheers to the weekend!

“Can’t put a buzz in a Friday night,
Can’t put a glow in a neon sign,
Make you move, shake your boots,
Til’ closing time, but a beer can.
Can’t ice it down, the long work week,
Can’t put a swivel in that bar seat,
Can’t certify a long neck lime on a sandy beach,
but a beer can.”

– Eric Burgett

“Backwoods Therapy” – Greg Pratt

For when you want to take it up a notch after a long work week, Greg brings the heat in “Backwoods Therapy”. With its traditional country sound and a mean fiddle, he sings of how to let your stress go, all you have to do is light it up in the backwoods.

“If you need healin’, get you back to feelin’,
When your 9 to 5 makes you wanna die,
Fire up the good time and let it burn
till dawn, wake up on the lawn,
Kill the hangover with redneck chemistry,
We call it backwoods therapy.”

– Greg Pratt

“Work Man” – Warren Garrett

Bonfires are for chilling out in the country, and when you spend the week working hard you want to crank a song that gets your life. Warren sings an anthem for the blue-collar worker who has earned a night to kick their boots off by the fire and forget “Work Man” for the night.

“Work, work, working for the man,
Stepkids to Uncle Sam,
Burn, burn, burning both ends,
Paying tax on rented land,
Sick and tired of sick and tired,
Racing blind on a razor wire,
Steel toes and quicksand,
Trying to make it work, make it work man.”

– Warren Garrett
