You Must Listen To These Female Country Love Songs Before 2024

By Lauren Schwab Eyre

With 2024 upon us, I’ve rounded up six love songs by female country artists that are a must listen to before the year ends. This has been my most viewed post, read – You Must Listen To These Female Country Love Songs Before 2022. This year brought a new set of songs that found their way on repeat in my car.

Alexandra KayEasy

It can be so easy to fall in love, but not so easy when it ends. Alexandra captures young love in this retro music video. Her voice conveys the passion of romance and the pain of heartache. This song will have you reminiscing on past relationships and singing along to its upbeat melody.

“It ain’t easy, waking up at night,
reaching to your side and it’s empty,
It ain’t easy, looking people in the eye,
swearing I’m alright when I’m fallin’ to pieces,
Easy letting go when I’ve never been alone,
and I don’t know who I am without you,
Now I’m crying on the bathroom floor,
and we ain’t got it easy anymore.”

– Alexandra Kay

Julia ColeBulletproof

You can try to soften his heart all you want, but you’ll never get through to a heart that’s bulletproof. He has his guard up and isn’t willing to let Julia in. After always being there for him despite him leaving many times, she realizes she’s the only one in love.

“I point and I aim, always shooting you straight,
Boy, you lead me on, loving each shot I take,
But no matter how many I do,
I’m always left missing you, missing you,
Swear you dare me to keep trying,
just fire one more time, boy it’s cruel, so cruel,
Cause you know that I’ll never get through,
to a heart that’s bulletproof.”

-Julia Cole

Ella LangleyWhere You Left It

When you try to move on, but everything reminds you of him. Ella sings of trying new places and new relationships, but always ends up thinking about him again. The truck, a song on the radio, a pack of cigarettes – every little thing.

“Cause the second I roll those windows down,
I put on my favorite song,
pull out the same pack of cigarettes,

we’d smoke all night long,
and next thing you know I’m turning off

that Montgomery exit,
to pick up the pieces of my heart,

right where you left it.”

– Ella Langley

Jenna PauletteYou Ain’t No Cowboy At All

Farmers and ranchers endure a lot of stress, but can also be able to stick tough times out. Jenna sings of how he looks the part of a cowboy, but when it comes to sticking it out for their relationship he won’t – turns out he ain’t no cowboy at all.

“You got the hat, you got the cattle,
you put a million miles on that saddle,
you sure know how to make a cowgirl fall,
You got the boots, the scars on your knuckle,
but settlin’ down don’t win any buckles,
you ain’t no god at stickin’ it out for the long haul,
turns out you ain’t no cowboy at all.”

– Jenna Paulette

Alana SpringsteenTennessee Is Mine

When a relationship ends, it can often be too hard to see them anymore. Alana sings of how it would be too hard for the both of them to be in the same city, even the same state. She says he can have all the other 49, but Tennessee is mine.

“You can hang on to my hometown,
take the Virginia Beach sky,
all the St. Augustine sunsets,
take them Talledega nights,
but somewhere I’ve gotta selfish,
I’ve gotta draw the line,
so turn around at the welcome sign babe,
cause Tennessee is mine.”

– Alana Springsteen

Tyra MadisonRight Girl Wrong Time (Exposed)

He wasn’t ready to commit to the relationship, but you can’t wait around for him to realize you were the right girl. Tyra sings passionately thinking about what could have been. She was the right girl, but it was the wrong time – maybe down the road or in another life.

“Mama always said, the good things take time,
But I can’t wait around for you to realize…
I was the right girl at the wrong time.
If I met you down the road, or maybe in another life,
I wonder how I’d look standin’ by your side.
But I was the right girl, right girl,
At the wrong time.”
