He’s Bacon, the pig who loves everyone. As a pig lover for life, I adore this children’s book release from Tina Neely about her pig, Bacon. Tina spoke with me about her vision for turning the love of her pig into a children’s book where readers will learn about friendship and belonging as Bacon shares the message, “You are loved!”
Written and illustrated by Tina herself, Bacon Loves Everyone! is the first book released in a collection of stories about her pig. Tina had always wanted a pig and when she bought Bacon at a flea market, she didn’t expect him to grow to 350 pounds! Tina also didn’t expect to become an author and book illustrator. She previously worked as a sous-chef when she unexpectedly lost her job due to a Covid-required shutdown. As she sat in her backyard trying to write out a plan of what to do next, Bacon demanded her attention and she began writing stories about him. As Bacon has brought so much love to Tina and her family’s life, she wants Bacon to do the same for others by telling a story about how you are loved.
