We often desire what we can’t have and what we think will be the solution to our problems. Sure going to Vegas, winning the jackpot and finding true love sounds like a fantasy. It will stay a fantasy until we work to make our desire a reality and it’s then we often realize, what we truly win isn’t the money, it’s the life and satisfaction of the journey to get where we are and want to go.
You may be thinking, ya sure it’s all about the journey, but the journey blows. When things go wrong and are hard on the farm, I find myself thinking, “some beach, somewhere…” or in a day dream of a life with no worries in the world. The truth is, we can spend our lives in negative thoughts and day dreams or we can begin taking action so they are a reality long before we come to the later years of our lives.
What can seem like an escape from reality can lead to moments of opportunity. I know one day I will be thinking back on my days as a young woman on the farm and know these moments made me who I am and led to where I’ve gotten to. Life is short, take chances and don’t live with regret. If you love someone, go after them, if you want the money, start the business, if you want to see the world, get on the plane, if you want to see change, be it.
