“Things That Matter” by Jean’s Boots Are Made For Talking

Today I want to share with you a blog post that touched my heart and reminded me to reconnect to the things that matter or should I say disconnect from those things that don’t. Jean’s Boots Are Made For Talking wrote this blog at: http://jeansboots.blogspot.com/2015/05/things-that-matter.html

She writes:

“What are the things that matter? Well, I can only start this morning with a brief list:

Things that matter:
Believing in something bigger than yourself.

Things that don’t:
A false sense that you have to get through it alone.

Things that matter:
Engaging in conversation and sharing a meal with others.

Things that don’t:
Believing that your cell phone is more interesting than the people physically around you.

Things that matter:
Fresh air in your lungs, compliments of the great outdoors.

Things that don’t:
Airing out your problems to solicit attention.”

Please read the rest of her blog at the link above and your heart will thank you for it.

This past weekend I disconnected in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. I long to live in the mountains with a nearby coffee shop and pancake house. Is that too much to ask for? What is most important is connecting with those I love, my boyfriend, in nature and talking about our life dreams. That and thanking God for all of this He created and bless us with is what matters.
