This inspirational video by The Henningsens touches the farmer within me and shows the reasons why farmers do what we do. Farming truly is a selfless labor of love. With every new day, I remind myself of the opportunity I have to farm. To live a life off the land, caring for animals and serving mankind with purpose and passion. I believe our lives are a direct result of the decisions we make. While I was born the daughter of a pig farm not by choice, I am choosing to make agriculture part of the rest of my life. I do not know what the future holds, but farming is in my heart and fuels the fire within me. There is so much even with agriculture I have yet to learn. It is important to learn something new each day and act upon it. I don’t want to limit myself by remaining comfortable. Life is too short not to take risks, not just for me, but for the next generation. I know a lot is going to change in my life in the coming years. Until now I have been living my dad’s dream, now it is time to make my own a reality. I know my dad will stay by my side, but he has taught me to dream big. Going the extra mile is worth it and it is never crowded because there aren’t many people willing to put in the extra. I am willing to take the risk and reep the rewards from the seed I sow.
