Farmland Confession – A Poem

By Lauren Schwab

“Farmland Confession” a poem by Lauren Schwab

My boots touch the gravel

Each rock has its place

My hands grip the wheel

 Steer to the farm gate

My arms lift the feed bucket

Grains flow into their open mouths

My ears listen to the melody of oinks

Calling from their snouts

Dawn to dusk

Barn lights up the night

Step by step

Dad by my side

God guides me through the day

Never led astray

I will continue on

I will endure

Each day counts

Each moment lived with burning passion

Eat, Drink, Pray

My life is farming all the way

Angels call

Take away my cares

No worries for me

Only faith in the impossible

Hope in life

Knowing all is right
