I often find myself wondering where the day went. There is always so much work to be done on the farm. When I do find a moment to rest, I often feel lazy or guilty of not doing more. It is important to make the most of every minute we are given. At the same time, I don’t want to get to the end of my life only to look back and think I was busy with my time, but not meaningful or intentional with it.
“A lot of people can really relate to the idea that it’s hard to be ok with just me as I am.” – Lindsey
As I’ve gotten older I believe in the power of pausing to just “be”. The quiet can be calming, especially in nature. I also love to close my eyes and listen to the sounds of Lindsey Stirling. Her violin work in soothing to my ears and relaxes me. I feel a sense of calm and peace come over me. Although I love music with lyrics, there is something special about letting your imagination take you away during an instrumental piece.
“Just being wasn’t enough.” – Lindsey
Lindsey wrote a beautiful instrumental song for the Calm app to help you meditate or just close your eyes and be at peace. “Just being wasn’t enough… I think meditation has made me a little more comfortable with just being; just being me,” shares Lindsey in an interview with Calm.
“One of the best steps I’ve taken through the years is my own time with myself.” – Lindsey
Having spent four years of her career rushing non-stop with her work, never taking a moment to catch her breath, Lindsey didn’t know how to pause and be ok with herself just as she is. “One of the best steps I’ve taken through the years is my own time with myself. Positive self-talk, visualization, meditation. You’re at your best when you work on your mind and your spirit and you actively exercise in the same way you take care of your body through diet,” explains Lindsey.
“I am enough and every single person has that potential.” – Lindsey
I encourage you to find a comfy place in your home alone or walk out into nature to see all the beauty God has created to just be with yourself. “I am enough and every single person has that potential. I believe that one hundred percent,” encourages Lindsey.
