I admire my Dad for acting on his dream to farm. He could have never imagined the obstacles he would face over the past 40 years, but he has kept his dream alive. “I am the one that shouldn’t have made it,” Jeff Schwab says in reference to the many farmers who have gone out of business. I know my dad visualizes farming with his children everyday. It is not easy, but he fights for it. I know it isn’t an accident I was born a farmer’s daughter with less than two percent of the U.S. population being full-time farmers. Many times I think it is unfair for a farmer to expect their child to have the same dream as them. I often wonder if I would have the same dream if I didn’t see how difficult it is on my dad. I know the uncertainty and finances weigh on him.

I have a dream to share the dream of all farmers. They dream to feed the world, pass it onto the next generation and keep America the land of plenty. To be an entrepreneur you have to take risks. You have to start before you are ready, because there will never be a perfect time. Now is the perfect time, you have to trust when you decide to do something that it’s already a done deal and God has your back.

“I am motivated by fear of fear, I hate being scared to do something… You can’t be scared to die for the truth” Will Smith. Franklin Roosevelt said, “The only thing you have to fear is fear itself.” Will inspires us to protect our dreams, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. If you want it, go get it.
